Welcome to Ponderosa Protea. We are a full serve nursey and gift shop located in Oroville, California, specializing in exotic Protea Flowers. Proteaceae is an ancient family of plants originating in South Africa and Australia. The Protea flower was named after the Greek God Proteus, who could assume many forms at will. Properly named, there are over 1400 varieties of Protea. Protea flowers are available year round. Blossoms are seasonal. so each bouquet is uniquely beautiful as the species in bloom varies throughhout the year. The flowers will hold their beautiful colors about 2 weeks, then dy to subtle muted tones. | ||||||||||||||||
